New?

From the dealer.
Well over 1k...

Used?
Ebay
MR2OC
Celicatech
Alltrac.net

But be warned!
Alot of "good condition" turbos are NOT.

Basically expect to rebuild the turbo when you get it.

well, you could start by reading the buying/selling forum rules, then posting a WTB: thread, or read the stickys in this forum and find out that you can usually get them pretty easily here, or mr2oc, or alltrac.net or celicatech.com..

searching for a turbo..?

What you need is to find someone that upgraded to a better turbo. If you dont go to the buying/selling forum or look on ebay then yes, I would say it would be very HARD to find a turbo.

wow its good to know that a moderator is willing to help embarrass someone who IS TRYING TO RESEARCH a 5sfte project in which he isnt trying to buy from 6gc.net so OBVIOUSLY YOU NEED TO READ .and if you dont wanna help someone who is doing a 5sfte only because he was motivated by yours then fine by me just stop trying to embarras me because i am sure other people on this site have no problem answering my questions. and another thing asking these question is RESEARCH,i am asking people who have done this before and asking them for tips.

not trying to embarass you.
the first part of reasearching is READING THE STICKYS.
all the info you asked for is in there. they were created for a reason, to help stop posts like these, that ask the same questions, over and over again.
i have no problem answering questions from ANYONE on this site, im sure there are pleanty of people who would tell you that, especially when it comes to the 5sfte.

It's true. he answers all my inane questions. He's also right. You have only been on here for a little over a year and even you have probably seen the exact same Turbo questions asked and answered a dozen times. I think what he and everyone else would prefer you to do would be to read the 5S-FTE sticky and use it as a basis for your setup. Then ask specific questions that may reflect any changes or new ideas you may have or just something you did not find a clear answer to.
I gaurantee you will get all the answers you want and none of the sarcasm you don't want if you just take the time to read first then ask. wink.gif

BTW - I have (3) CT-26's in various states of readiness. Also (3) intercoolers and tons of other parts. I also need a few more items for my 5S-FTE setup so PM me if you want one. Trades are very welcome.

Nah - questions are cool just research some first so as to limit the amount of questions you have.
Don't Be in too much of a hurry. It will take a while to gather the parts and have them rebuilt [thinking of Turbos and having the Injectors cleaned and mapped]. You'll need to take this thing to be tuned and that takes time and money etc etc. Just don't try to rush things or you'll end up with a blown motor.
Have you done a compression test yet? This is absolutely a must because you're 1st step towards turbo could be deciding whether to rebuild your 5S in hopes of an FTE or just swapping to 3S-GTE because you're 5S is about to go.
I am PM'ing you with prices.
