This is a thread for those how have had first hand experience with spacing out GTS rims. Wondering what you're using SIZE wise, and what you would recommend SIZE wise to make a flush, but functional setup with 50/55 tires (sidewall).
H&R spacers of course… My current thought would be 5mm spacers, but would like to hear from people that have had first hand experience. Please post pictures if possible. Thanks- -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

Thanks- I made my own 1/4" spacer.. using 225/55/16's .. 7th gen rims of course.. 1/4" is a cunt hair over 6mm. A thicker spacer would be nicer though.. I'd say more like 1/2" .. however, 1/4" is nice.. plus you don't need to do anything with the studs. -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. Future engine swap... possibly a 2jzge.

No matter what size i go with, i will be buying H&R spacers --> don't want to screw around with something so crucial.
GTS rims are 39mm offset correct? -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

GTS rims are 39mm offset correct? What do you mean something so crucial? You do realize that a 1/4" spacer does not require anything to be done with the lugs right? The only thing a 1/4" spacer will be is a round piece of machined steel or aluminum and 5 holes drilled in it... I don't care what brand you go with.. it's not like I'm selling them.. Just want ya to know that a spacer that thin is nothing special at all. -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. H&R spacers are hubcentric, precision engineered, and have unrivaled fit.

there was a guy on here with a white celica that had 7th gen rims with spacers that looked really good. i think he was using a 15 or 25m spacer. try searching the members profiles.
i wouldnt bother with a 5m. it wont make much of a difference, and like punisher said, with a sparer that small, it really doesn't matter much what you use. even pepboys stocks 5m spacers. but if you go with a 15 or 25m, thats when you really want a quality spacer. you would have to re-torque spacers every 100-200 miles or so.

Good luck finding a hubcentric 5mm spacer. The "ideal" spacer really depends on what look you are going for.. and also tire size. a 5mm spacer will clear 225/55/16 in the rear.. nothing larger. The front doesn't need a spacer for that size. -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. So 15mm spacers should be more than acceptable, just not out as far as the 20mm. OK. -------------------- |

Okay.. question... not to hijack or anything, but my 17X7 rims have an offset of +42. I want to at least get the rear more flush, so which size spacer should I look into?

Do we even actually NEED the spacers? Or did you want them just for the flush look?
I run 16" 7th gen gts rims with the standard tire (205/50/16?). spacers are just for the flush look.
I have 7th gen rims with 205/50/R16's And... I have Ichiban 15mm spacers up front and 20mm spacers in the back, they are installed and look a little sunk with my stock 14" wheels. But it should look almost exactly flush on my lowered car. I dont know yet though because, as i said, im on 14" winter stealies right now This post has been edited by Tech9ine: Mar 9, 2007 - 6:03 PM |
