Amp (HIding wires) Options

Hey i need to hide the wires from my amp and stuff. How did you guys hide yours and where did u hide them at.
Also for those who have strobe lights INSIDE their cars(not in the headlights). Where did put them at and where did u hide the wires at thanks

the easiest place to run wires is under the carpet. even if you can't strip the interior you should be able to run the wires under the very edge of the carpet to the hatch or to where-ever you want to set up your amps.

Another thing is depending on how much power your system is pushing your gonna want to look into bigger guage wires, something monster cables, and a capacitor to keep a constant flow of juice going to the system and the car, so your headlights won't dim when the bass hits. You could also run a separate battery for the system. just my input...

My lights dont dim im only pushing 300 watts but my subs only stay and they out of no where they cut off. I know its not my amp caz i know it can power them .but in order to get them working again i have to turn my car offand turn it back on . Could it be that i have a 20 fuse when its supposed to be a 25 ? please help

sounds like ur amp is over heating. check to make sure that ur amp isnt just stuffed somewhere... it does need a little room to breath... there are usally a "protection" light that will go on if this happens

it could also be a bad connection with ur ground wire... make sure that the paint is sanded off completly where the ground is connected and check ur connection ot make sure that it is tight enuf...

also for hiding the wires the best way that I find was to have them run from ur amp under the rear seats and under the door sill... also u zipties to keep ur wires together and use a wire loom for both the hidden and showing wires. can get these from AUTOZONE for a couple dollars.

IMPORTANT.... run the RCA cables and the POWER cables on oppisite sides of the car... not doing this somtimes allows engine noises to come through ur subs.... it sounds like ****..

also with the fuse... running a 20 instead of a 25 isnt that big of a deal... the only real diff is that the fuse will blow sooner than the 25.

the best way of hiding wires is to get yourself some sponge or card and cut out a template to the exact shape of your trunk. You may have to do thi in a few pieces for some of the stranger angles but this is no problem. Once you have your templates place them over some wood of your choice suggest something fairly thick but not too heavy and cut the wood out to the exact outline of your templates. Once you have your trunk shaped bits of wood cover them in trunk crpet or material of your choice, all of your wires can be run through perfect sized holesand run under the wood template. I have this set up my self and it looks good all that can be seen are the actual connections. Also doing this alows you to bolt in amps, power packs, caps etc with decent sized screws without the worry of the spare being damaged.

I heard on http://www.elitecaraudio.com that you don't need to do this if you're only going to be powering subs, because distortion from power wires can't be heard much if at all on subs. I ran my RCAs right next to my 4 gauge power wire and I don't hear any distortion at all.

Also, I ran my power wire underneath my carpet, and then under my driver's side door sill, and then behind the rear side panel into the trunk.

Notice the "sometimes" im my previous post... This is a problem sometimes with larger systems.... I have had problems with this happening in other cars but never in any of my systems in my 6th gen...

It only take a couple extra mins to do this and it will eliminate the possiblity of it happening so I would still suggest doing this.

an easier way to do this is to just use your carpet in the trunk... get a sheet of MDF board and lay you carpet on it and trace around it... the trunk dimensions stay the same on the bottom for about 1 1/2 -2 inches.. cover it with nekind of carpet.

the only problem with this way and the way mentioned above is that it is one piece and kinda hard to get down into the bottom of the trunk... maybe rigggin up something with hinges on the bottom of it that would kinda fold in half would help.
