They are a bit slower, have great gas milage, better looking body style, and its a toyota so it's quality... and the engine fire you had in your GT is unfortunate, what caused it to catch?

St is a basic model so its a $ saver for sure and you can get some good long life outta it..

the motor is highly reliable and dependant requires very little maintenance.
lots of room to work on crap and normally pretty darn easy.

gas can be expected to be very nice no the pocket too smile.gif

but if you like a little more oomf in your step i'd look into a gt the st is fairly slow frown.gif

ST is slow, and the automatic version is probably painfully slow, but the gas mileage is nice in ST's. I filled up yesterday after getting 430 miles on 3/4 tank. That is about a 40/60 mix of highway/city driving. I averaged 35MPG.

i went from the auto st, to the manual gt...i had no idea what i was missing. the st is quite a bit slower. im not sure how much of a diff the gas mileage is though. good luck with the purchase or whatever you decide to do, they really are nice cars.

It's got enough oomph to beat a minivan at a redlight, but it's not very fast until you get into higher rpms. Mine zips around the freeway.
I'm doing a swap this summer though, but so far, gas mileage and reliability have been wonderful.

As far as I know they don't look any different. I'd look into the GT.

5th Gen vs. 6th Gen and yeah I would agree the 6th looks a little better - alot better than the narrow body 5th gens.

I believe he is referring to the 92 GT 5th Gen compared to the 6th Gen.

lol.
"It's got enough oomph to beat a minivan (unless it's plyr's) at a redlight"

fixed.

I took a minivan for fun the other day. He was driving like a douche nozzle riding me then pulled up next to me at a light and was looking at me funny.

I don't get why every guy in the area who drives a minivan feels the need to act like it's a race car. They're worse than the ricers around here.

Yeah, him and his soccerball sticker were probably the most menacing thing I ever did see.

I got chills (from the rear climate controls firing out of the slight cracked status of the rear windows being opened as far as they possibly could).
