Hello, yall! Nice to be back into nicer weather! That unfortunately is the problem also, one side of my top doesnt like to go up when I try to close it! I have to assist it manually to get it started! Oh the horror! Anybody else run across this before?

Sounds like your motor is shot. I would say its only a matter of time before the strain kills the other side...
There is a sticky somewhere i believe that has a fairly easy fix for pre 98 motors. IIRC the bolt shears off and you need to put another one (or subsitute or sorts) in. |

ah man, i hope thats not it. Earlier in the year I had a leak on that same side. I wonder if that had any affect on what is happening.

yup same thing happened to me :|

You go into your trunk and you'll see a little square cover towards the left side. Flip that switch to manual, and then go into your car and just open and close it manually. It's still going to be kind of hard to do becuase the top is rather heavy.

Last time I did it I was in a busy parking lot and I lost my balance as I was pulling it up and fell over like right in between the driver and passenger seat, and the top fell right back down. I felt like an idiot cuz there were people walking by staring at me with the look of "what the hell is she doing" and then I fell over... haha I REALLY need to replace my motors... guys this is sooooooo easy to fix lemme see if i can find the post from the first time this came up...
basically its the pin on the inside of your motor, it snaps and makes the motor useless, all you have to do if find a fitting substitute for the pin! if you guys want to send them out to me and pay for shipping i can do it for you or just pm me and we can walk through the fix. -------------------- The question is not how far.
