This March the Celica was 12 years old so it needed a facelift. New 17" wolfrace Octane, JDM rears, SSIII extentions front & back, Tanabe coilovers and 4-1 header. No its about time I start looking at the interior!!

Thanks guys. Its not called Maltese its drives on Maltese Roads though.

TO be honest the $ in 1 is not that great. I think the original Toyota is built better. I am thinking of changing back to the original with a decat.

If your interested in doing the interior there is a set of Katskin leather seat fabric replacement on Ebay. It started out at $700 the first time i saw it an now it is at $500. A lot less than the original $1000.

Not on this side of Atlantic - 5AFE are rare here, while 3SGE and 3SGTE are common. Beams is unicorn everywhere.

looks sweet, my celi is due it's respray now so was thinking a silver, either your shade or a kinda titanium grey, you just made my mind up! Would u have the paint code? it's a standard celica colour isn't it? Goes really well with the black wheels!
In ireland the beams 3s-ge is getting as common as muck..near enough every celica...me tho..can't afford the beams so i just got the norm 3sge!! I still love it tho smile.gif

I could not stand the orange lenses, but I cannot do the clears myself although I tried several times. They never come quite right. Anyway the left one gives additional nice fresh air to the air filter. wink.gif

I think there is not much difference between the two. I'd like to try/race one but there is none on the island. In my opinion the 3s-ge is the perfect toyota n/a. Yamaha did a great job with the head.

Cheers! Hopefully i'll be able to stick new pics of my currently white one up soon. It's been off the road for a long long long time!
I took out my interior, Mitsubishi FTO seats are currently half in and i've resprayed the dash a metallic silver to break up the black and it turned out really well for less than a days work! Freshened it up no end!
I think, well most advertised here claim up to 210bhp with the beams tuned engine...a standard 3sge 177bhp but with manifold, decat and exhaust it'd be up to at least 200bhp so there isn't alot of difference really! Anyone wanted to argue it'd be down to the driver...

TBH i think you would struggle to get 200 from the 3S-GE without spending some serious £££ The standard manifold is about as good as it gets, and decat and exhaust will give you about 10BHP max. Plus it will have lost a few ponies over the years.

I've got one, They've squeezed almost everything they can from it as stock!

alex-uksc's celi has 5zigen manifold, decat, tanabe system and uprated plugs and i think he said she was R/R'd at 200..He's probably got more done though! They aren't exactly slow as stock thats for sure! I've never been one to mess much with the engine. Manifold and decat would be as far as i'd go!

Hmmm, i'd have to see the dyno sheet. I just don't think it's that easy to get 200 out of the 3S-GE. I know loads of people who have more mods than that and are still not running close to 200BHP

It's tuned pretty damn well by toyota (and yamaha that designed the engine) to get it up to 200 Beams had to do quite a lot of work on the engine, if they could just change the manifold they would have done that smile.gif

But yeah, as you say, it shifts pretty well as it is, It puts a smile on your face when you get over 5,000 RPM biggrin.gif
