Had a new tranny put in and I have snapped 3 linkage clips now and the linkage has been adjusted twice.
What in the world would make the clips break? |

QUOTE(THCelica @ Apr 17, 2007 - 7:36 PM) Had a new tranny put in and I have snapped 3 linkage clips now and the linkage has been adjusted twice. What in the world would make the clips break? Are you talking about the throttle linkage/cable to the transmission? What clips are you referring to? -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

Shifter linkage. When these clips go the shifter gets all jacked up.
Apparently there is a clip in the shape of a D or similar that holds all the shifter cables together etc. And it keeps breaking. This post has been edited by THCelica: Apr 18, 2007 - 4:34 AM |

Actually it's in the shape of a "U" I don't know how it's breaking though it's pretty strong and springy. Do you have the ones that are broken that you could take a picture of? My bet is that they don't have the shifter cable on the bracket correctly or the wrong bracket is being used and that is causing the spring clip to pop out. Was the tranny from a celica or a camry?

Well I was close when I said "D". Anyways. That is a good question. I am not a hundred percent whether it was from a Celica or not. It may be the Camry's. It is the A140E that is in there I believe. Or I could be wrong. But tell me more about this bracket thing.
And then I wonder, can this be cause by something internal? |
