Anyone have any info on removing the EGT probe on a JDM 3S ? Not unscrewing it laugh.gif, eliminating it completely. Or could I just zip tie it somewhere in the engine bay ? New down pipe I'm getting doesnt have a bung for this JDM probe.

Thanks guys
DEF

Just don't use it. I didn't on my RC swap and it didn't throw a code... Actually I'm not even sure if it even made it's way into the ECU... It may have just been for the catalytic convertor dummy light on the JDM combo meter.

Did something happen to your SSAC DP?

You guys pwn the internet.

Justin- I'm picking up the new berk pipe. His new version doesnt support this jdm egt probe. So I wasnt sure what to do about the probe. I'm tired of looking at that ssac pipe. The berk pipe is amazing.

Thanks guys smile.gif

So the V3 is finally available? I might think about picking one up then. I haven't had any problems with my SSAC pipe but it's always in the back of my mind.

he's doing a pre-production GB on mr2oc right now for 150 + shipping IIRC.
the normal GB price will be 199, and it will be 249 once the GB's are done.

Wow. that's a hell of a deal on the pre-order price. I've gotta go find the post at mr2oc. I wonder if this thing is going to clear the AC compressor and lines with that flex pipe built into it.

someone should point this out to berk. im willing to bet he would revise the pipe to include the sensor.

does it still have the 2nd o2 port for a wideband?

I talked to him already. He's not including it.

The wide band bung is an add on feature for 25 bucks. Stock the down pipe comes with the single o2 sensor.

The JDM EGT sensor is not so much a sensor as a switch. At a certain temp, it closes the circuit. Unplugging it completely causes no problems. The sensor is for the cat, not the motor - and when the cat is gone, there is no need for the sensor.

Anybody serious about performance will have an aftermarket EGT gauge installed to see real temps anyway...
