Well i found a 95 Celica ST ST200 with 7AFE Engine in it, i probably getting that car as well since it's Manual Transmission. so that makes it 2 Celicas i'll be owning. Giving my brother my Automatic Celica GT 5SFE.
I just want to know if anyone swap a 7AFE to 4AGE or 4AGZE(even though i know it's more recommended for street driving with good end torque) engine before and the results of it success? I know i read the Feasible and Non-Feasible Engine Swaps Topic said, "Celica with a 7A-FE(USDM ST) because both engines are A-series engines. This engine will bolt right up to your stock USDM ST(AT200) transmission." someone care to explain what that means in the parenthesis? does it mean it's easier to swap because the motor mount can hold the 4AGE/4AGZE as well or is it something else behind that meaning? I'm planning to do engine swapping in my dad's shop if it doesnt require any welding or special setup to put the 4AGZE in the ST Celica. Much info or help is much appriciate from the ones that have good knowledge and experience |

Much info or help is much appriciate from the ones that have good knowledge and experience there is no such thing as a 1995 celica ST200, the celicas STs as far as I know are chasis code AT200 do a search and you'll see members with those swaps done and their experiences. it doesn't mean easier swap, it means that you won't need new motor mounts or new tranny so is somewhat a little less work involve but I wouldn't say easier. unless you're putting the same engine as stock ( swaping a 7AFE for another 7AFE with the same specs ) any swap require special set-up. Yes it is an easier swap than an S-series engine (3SGE, 3SGTE, etc.) because you can use your current motor mounts and you can use your current transmission. You would need the 4AGE, ECU, harness, etc. You will want to replace the gaskets, timing belt, water pump, etc. while it is out - plus add some fun stuff like cams and cam gears - because you can't leave an engine alone for too long. Thanks alot for the info! Makes me feel better to hear that! though, i do have to replace the tranny too right? since the 7AFE tranny cant handle too much power boost from the 4AGZE? |

yeah, if you get the AE101 4AGZE you can use the tranny that comes with it - it will hold the boost a bit better... but for some reason I think it is a C52 trans as well... maybe someone can shed some light on that?

I think the GZE trans comes with LSD though, so you wouldn't need to buy an aftermarket one.
I think Nik had his rebuilt though when the LSD went in.. wouldn't make sence to open it up to only put in an LSD -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Thank you both for the info. i will stick with 7AFE for now and have fun driving stick shift plus the gas saving on this engine. that way i can save up the money whatever require for me to do the swapping and tuning parts for 4AGZE in the future then put it under the Celica ST's hood
