blah my 210+k tranny finally threw in the towel and now i need a replacement fast. I thought about doing all wheel drive but im not sure if thats a wise idea. I also thought about doing an e153 lsd tranny but seeing as ive already spent money on a spec stg 3 clutch made to mate the s54 tranny to the 3s flywheel i might as well stay with a low priced open diff s45 tranny right??

what are ur thoughts and if you guys have any trannys that would be great too.

well it wasnt my tranny turn out to be the shifter cables.... so after getting a used 80k tranny for 388 i now have two trannies. so now my plan is to rebuild the one i bought and put an lsd diff in it then swap out the trannys leaving me with a 3sgte, custom spec clutch stg 3, s54 trans with a lsd dif from a c56 (aka trd helica lsd which was discontinuded)

a lot of people are quick to misdiagnose shifting problems and just blame the s54 for everything. it might not be the best trans in the world, but it holds up fairly well.
