Hi, I am working getting my 3s running
it was basically completely dissasembled and put back together the bottom end has been built, here are all the specs 4th gen block w/ wiesco pistons and crower pro billet rods, custom cometic head gasket (brand new) with 3rd gen head and mostly 3rd gen parts except for the 4th gen manifold and top feed fuel rail. well i finally got it all together, and got it cranked but i have water getting in my oil and oil in my water does anyone know what it might be except for a head gasket its a brand new head gasket so i hop thats not it, plus i really don't want to take the head back off also what is the hose line coming out of the head right next to the intake manifold on the side closest to the tranny where does that hose need to go i have talked to a few people today, and most think it is either the head gasket didn't seal somehow, or possibly some passages are wrong between the 4th gen block and 3rd gen head, or my cometic head gasket is the wrong one i'm hoping it is a head gasket problem at this point is there a difference in a 3rd or 4th or a 2nd gen head gasket cuz i think mine might be a 2nd gen if anyone know of any big 3s tuners i would really appriciate if you could let me know thanks -------------------- |

who put the headgasket on? you should be able to clearly see if the coolant passages line up or not.
the only place were coolant and oil can mix is really between the head and the block, so it sounds like something is wrong with the headgasket. either incorrect part or incorrect install. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

QUOTE(celicaracer18 @ May 8, 2007 - 9:41 PM) also what is the hose line coming out of the head right next to the intake manifold on the side closest to the tranny That's a vent port. It is the drain for the stock crankcase vent filter (catchcan). You can plug it if you want.where does that hose need to go -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

Also did you have the block/head decked to insure they were flat clean surfaces?
