I got my magnaflow muffler yesterday, gonna get the custom work done tomorrow, can anyone throw out any ideas of what i should be looking at for a price range? From my understanding it should be just a few bends and a couple welds?

If you already have the cat-back and just wanna cut it, bend new pipe to go under the rear suspension and add the new exhaust on it should be fairly cheap. My guy here would charge probably $50 under the table. A little more if you want stainless piping.

For the whole cat-back with you bringing the exhaust or just the under the suspension part? Either way you can probably find a better price unless like I said it's SS or mandrel and then I say that's pretty good. You may have to actually drive to the places and talk to them. Most of the really good deals will happen under the table wink.gif
My under the table header back exhaust with mods to the MR2 header only ran me $150. That's the whole exhaust and some medium extensive header modifications, new OEM style gaskets, crush bent with super gentle curves. This guy does really quality work for crush bent [you can hardly tell]. I've used him on several of my friends cars - always with really good results. Check around - find someone good so you only have to do it once.

Catback tho or just "axle" back? If it's a catback in stainless under suspension and you provide the exhaust for $140 i say def go for it. That is a very good price. SS is the key - it's 3-4x more per pound than carbon steel at least in the manufacturing world. I buy/sell same stuff both ways for my company and we charge 3x the price for 304 SS and 4x more for 316 SS which is becoming hard to find due to the Chinese buy outs of steel.
You have ST right so make sure you don't go too big.
Go for it man - enjoy your first performance mod!

in order to ship it would probably be easier if it was a bolt up catback so it could be compacted. I dunno. Thinking outside the box. Then I could have my mechanic do the welds to the piping when it got here.

I dunno. too much work. not enough play.

I hate fridays when I have to work saturdays.

make me a catback.

Sounds really good man. So what Magnaflow was that? Full Cat-back or not? Under axle right in SS?

148512 or something? I forget lol.. and Thing with that is he TOLD me he would do it as a under axel but when I got there it was over axel but he did it all with the same size pipe in SS so its no biggie yet, when I go FI i'll prolly have the over axel part just hacked out or something but all together its pretty clean.. My only problem is that theres a sort of static sound (best way I can think to describe it) when i hit higher RPM ranges (4k+ or 3k+ on a cold start), it doesnt seem to effect performance but does sound a lil ricey lol..

That's what happened when I installed my header and highflow cat. I think it's the exhaust pulses hitting the stainless or something. As far as I know there is no way to get rid of it. If you figure something out let me know.
So it is a full catback right? LOL - I've asked like 3 times in this thread.
Have fun with it man.
