Just curious, not sure really where I should post this. Can anyone tell me Toyota's explanation for not releasing the st205 in the states? And stiffing us with these underpowered, all-show-no-go cars?

well, one of the MAJOR reasons i would guess would be them only selling something like 82 alltracs in '93 in the USA.
they we're just too much damn money new.

$29,679 for a brand new 1993 Alltrac = 83 cars sold = end of alltrac frown.gif
($29,679 in 1993 = $40,112 in 2005)

Dayum..That inflation is bitch. Hard to believe that I was 6 then...or I would have bought one. High powered, awd cars don't come cheap either, that I've seen.

it would be a great time for them to bring it back. seeing as how cars like the evo and sti are selling so well. but, sadly, toyota only cares about competing with GM right now.

......always thought it was becuase of two reasons....one was becuase of restriction of overpowered vehicles being sold in american markets from overseas company's, without the extra testing that would be required, and extra smog devices....one reason why i belive cars such as the skyline and turbocharged 240's were never introduced over here for example....the other was the economy..i think that toyota knew then and now, that fuel economy cars sold better, and that they would start out with such....but honestly maybe only toyota knows as to why...
