I'm well aware that they put vin number stickers on the hood, rear hatch, the inside edge of the quarter panels, both doors, even the front bumper beam has a sticker. I opened the hood on this celica and both fenders did not have vin stickers so I was thinking it was in a accident. The sales guy said all cars don't have them. Can you guys tell me if any of your celica's have vin stickers on the inside edge of your front fenders?

Wow a 6th gen forum and not one member can give me a reply. I guess it's too much to ask a member to pop his hood and look at the inside edge of the fender to see if there is a vin sticker.

If you are looking at your celica with the hood close look at the gap between the hood and the fender. You need to pop your hood open look at the three visible bolts holding the fender to the body. If there is any vin sticker it will be on the painted surface of the fender but hidden by the hood when closed. I hope that makes sense?

I just looked at the members ride section and it looks like toyota did not put vin number stickers on the fenders. It's strange they would put them on all the other major panels but not the front fenders. I just passed on a 2 owner 99 celica gt with 77k 5 speed and leather for 9k I thought because it did not have the stickers it was in a accident.

My 97 celica has all the stickers.

you can see the stickers on the fenders when you open the door and look between the hinge. The hatch also has a sticker.

You have to remember these stickers are exposed to the elements. So dont expect them to stay on forever. These stickers are not the best way to tell if a car has been in major accidents. Because you can replace the fender do to a small parking lot accident. These small crashes dont affect the car's structural integregrity at all.

Thank you Hanyo so thats where they hide them. I drove 450 miles to look at this car only to walk away from it for the wrong reasons.
