does anyone get pains under there left armpit/left side of heart after driving there manual car???
i have for years and a doctor said it was because of changing the gear. anyone have this pain or problem? -------------------- |

my car is LHD lol.
yeah other doctor suggestions are its heartburn, and dont drink hot drinks cos its will burn ur heart. but the pains like left of my beck. anyway thanks nigel -------------------- |

It's mostly caused by greasy or spicey foods. Also, heartburn isn't literally the burning of your heart lol... it's more like stomach acid stuck between your stomach and esophagus. |

Sometimes my left wrist/lower arm and shoulder gets sore because of how I drive, right hand on the stick and left hand at 7/8 on the wheel...i think its an unnatural position to hold my arm in for long periods, esp. with the shock of the car/wheel. and, if you came in to see a doctor with left arm/left side pains/heartburn, the last thing I would think about is strain from switching gears lol. I hope he ran all the necessary tests/etc. before coming to that "diagnosis" |

QUOTE(Nigel @ Jul 12, 2007 - 1:34 PM) [snapback]577893[/snapback] my car is LHD lol. yeah other doctor suggestions are its heartburn, and dont drink hot drinks cos its will burn ur heart. but the pains like left of my beck. anyway thanks nigel they are on crack. heartburn has no direct correlation to pain felt on the left side of the heart. its when your cardiac sphincter doesn't close properly and like chanh said, stomach acid creeps its way back up. further complications turn into gastroesophageal reflux disease aka GERD. if it is heartburn, take TUMS. if its GERD, you might have to ask for a Nexium prescription (that actually repairs some of the damaged lining). carbonated drinks, caffeine, and chocolate among others provoke that "hard to swallow" feeling. if you are having heart complications, you might hear an abnormal heart beat, or even a fluttering sound if you were to listen to your heart with a stethoscope. hows your diet and exercise? lots of fat could clog arteries making your heart pump harder to get it through. genes also play a role with malfunctioning valves or high blood pressure, which is a recipe for disaster. i highly doubt it is left sided heart failure unless you are coughing up pink froth. you should definitely get a second doctor's opinion. if the pain gets worse or spreads it could lead to more serious complications. unrelieved crushing chest pain is the start of a heart attack. i have a stick shift and the only fatigue ive ever experienced is foot soreness from driving through stop and go traffic for a few hours. you should not have any bad side effects from a 6gc! -------------------- |
