I am close to getting a mr2t and would like to ask a few questions to the 3sgte gurus here......but first....a PIC!

Anyways, its an sw21 with a sw20 jdm swap. It has a few mods, some cool, some....ehh. So here goes...

1. It has an HKS VPC/GCC....does that mean that I can run an atmospheric BOV and NOT backfire/run rich when I shift?

2. It has a LARGE (dont know what model) Precision turbo that doesnt spool till like 3.5k-4k rpms.....would YOU live with it, or swap for a ct20b or something else?

3. The turbo manifold is "4 bolt" (as the owner claimed). What turbos would bolt up to this if I did swap?

1. yes
2. depend on your power goal.
3. need to know what turbo this is. If it is more square (frame, not inlet), it could be T4. If it is more rectangular, it could be T3/T25.

hee-hee. Once you drive the car with the bigger turbo, you won't care about spool time. Remember, boost lag is usually a first gear issue. In terms of dig racing, of course.

Just found out thats its a sc61. Theres like three models, and two of them are T04 mounts, and the other is a T350 mount. They are all rated to like 600+hp. Yikes! Sooo.....I'll just have to see what is what. So the question is: Do I want another turbo? I'm more into road racing than drag, and I really like fast acceleration coming out of turns. But, maybe I just hafta run higher rpms...........don't know kindasad.gif


Also, I found out that the knock sensor bracket is loose mad.gif . It didnt wanna boost on the way home, but Mike (Previous owner) just pushed it back it place, and told me to buy another bracket. rolleyes.gif . Gee, Thanks for telling me that NOW. lol.
