If 29psi is the optimal tire pressure for the stock 185/70/14 tires, what should be the best tire pressure for 215/40/17's? The same or more?

Draw a line on tire tread using a chalk.
Drive in straight line for a distance and adjust the pressure accordingly.

33psi is what im running on 215/45/17, Tired of the tires folding when I take a "spirited" corner.. I bumped front to 35 and rear down to 33.

It should say on the tire what the max pressure is... I leave my 215/35/18 @ about 40psi

Something to keep in mind, too much tire pressure = less contact patch.

Overinflation = More wear in the center.
Underinflation = More wear in the outside.

The stock 15" take 35. I put 35 or 36 in my 17".

I thought my front tires (215/45/17) were looking a bit low and it turns out they were inflated to 29 psi when I had them installed. I recently bumped them up to 33, but is this ideal? Sounds like a lot of people vary their tire pressure. I want to make sure my pressure is good enough because I'm taking the Celi for a good 8 hour drive this weekend.
