Celica:
So as most of everyone knows my transmission in the celica is leaking. So i've been without my celi for over a week. She's currently in a tranny shop hopefully getting fixed. Don't know when i'll have it back. Prob another week. Jeep: Yesterday I stopped on my way up to work and my Jeep decided not to start. So I called the place where my grandfather got it which was only 5 miles away. They came and towed the car to their shop. Since they are clients of ours they are usually very good about getting things done. They figured out that the starter was bad, installed a new one and I had the car back in time to go home. I drove all over after work and made at least 4 stops. The car was fine. This morning I'm on my way to work and about 25 min away I'm at a stop light my RPMs go all the way down the alternator gage goes down and the car dies. So i put the Jeep in park and turn the key and it starts. So i' like wtf was that. I call the Service center where it was yesterday. They said if it happens again to call. So 5 more min of driving and the car starts to act weird. RPMs were all over and i couldn't go above 40 then 30 then the car was bucking and i heard a knocking noise. So i call the service guys. They said to get the car to them. Fine, great. 15 min. So I'm going up a major road where i have to merge to get on the Mid-Hudson Bridge to go to work. Of course my car decides to buck and go only 20 mph. It did that for about 5 min then it was ok. Then it would only go 40... then it was fine. I got to the service place and the owner drove me to my office (2 min away) in my Jeep so he could see the problem. Of course it drove totally fine for him. So basically i own two pieces of **** on wheels. Anger doesn't even begin to describe how i feel right now. ps: excuse the spelling and/or sentence structure I was rushing. Celica tranny came from Dan (Plyr158)
The place just called and said they can't find anything wrong with the jeep and they think that there is water in my gas tank so they are putting dry gas in. They also said to use a higher octane (i use 91 or 89 already). The gas tank wasn't on E. It was two lines before E. I just don't really want to deal with any more car problems right now. -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

kind of sounds like your fuel gauge isn't accurate. the problem happened when going up hill because the fuel in the gas tank shifted away from the fuel pump. then driving around on a flat road was fine again. fill up the tank and see if the problem comes back with a full tank of gas. .... this is all just a guess tho.

Drove home after they put some dry gas in and i filled up with 93 Octane ($65.00 )
Car seems fine now. So i gave it a bath and buffed out the doors that have been keyed to my best ability. No word on Celi yet . -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

What is it with 6gc members sending you damaged parts? Between the tranny and your projectors, you certainly have gotten the shaft from the community.

Try going back down to 89, I don't see why it would require such high octane.
Also: check the gauge against how many gallons you put in. I know on my gauge after it goes below 5 gallons it's sort of unreliable, and won't even make it to E if theres below 3. -------------------- |

Idk why it would do that all of a sudden? I've driven it with the gas light on because i forgot to fill up, and i have an information center in the car that tells you exactly how many miles you have left before you need to fill up. It was at 1/4 of a tank when it was acting funny. Also the car hasn't been sitting, since the celica is down I've been driving it everyday.
greening- I know i got screwed up on two major items. This post has been edited by ILuvMyCelica95: Aug 31, 2007 - 12:39 PM -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

I haven't seen my celica since August 15th.
This morning while i was driving the jeep with 3/4 of a tank of 93 octain it did the EXACT same thing as it did friday. Stalled, and it was bucking back and forth and the RPMs were all over the place. There was also a metallic knocking sound from the driver's side of the engine and when i got to the service place there was a burning smell. The guy who owns the service center drove my car with me in it and it was doing all the things I was talking about. He said there is water in the gas tank again. I don't understand how there could be water in the tank AGAIN. So basically I DO NOT feel safe driving the jeep. I want my car back. The only news I got on the celi was that the transmission guy said that the problem i have is a common one... he's seen it before. The guy is AWESOME with transmissions BUT he's REALLY slow. So right now i have NO idea when my car is coming back. -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0
