sorry about repost if anyone know the link to the old post that was similair to this let me know i couldnt find it but know i glanced at it before.

ok so i got my motor in and everything got it all hooked up and decided to try and turn it over. not to start it jsut see if shed turn over. it did right off the bat everything worked. but when we first turned the key just to the on position before i turned it over we smelled something slightly burnt. there was no smoke and no sound. we looked everywhere but found nothing. so it turned over perfect last night and when came back out today to finish the little stuff and recheck everything, i dont have anything. when i turn the key the only thing i get for power is the brake light and airbag light, and my windshiled wipers are trying to work backwards(in other words pull down towards the motor.) the fuses all are good and im pretty sure all the grounds are good. the battery is a brand new OPTIMA red top and has full charge. any help is much appreciated

most likely smelling either shorted wires burning or just wires burning. if u smelt it but never saw it, it's most likely a electrical connection for ur ignition, that should be the first place u look for something fried

yea. you have to have something hooked up wrong. It must have fried a wire. Check ALL the fuses. Including the 100 AMP in the relay blocks.

i checked all the fuses except the relay, to me it seems like only 1 ign switch in the ignition column is getting power. the other is not because only half the gauge lights work and the windhield blades want to go backwards. ill chck the 100 amp tomorrow. anyone else have info

pull out every fuse, one by one, and test them with a multimeter or a fuse tester. sometimes they can look fine, but be burned out.

check to make sure that you have all your grounds connected. 1 to the trans, 1 one to the chasis, and one from the main engine harness to the back of the intake manifold.

if all that is good, and you still smell something burning, then you should contact tweak and talk to him about it.

Was the harness wired for the ecm correctly? Make sure the ecm you have is for the correct year and part# that it was wired for.
