Bike Racks on a 6GC? Options

lots of mtn biking going on in my world, between me and my schmoopie, the inside of the Celica is not the solution for moving bikes around.

Does anyone on the board Mtn Bike (always looking to chat with em) AND how are you moving your bikes around if you are using your Celica to do so?

i think they have universal bike racks that attatch to the trunk of cars at wall mart. if not try dicks sporting goods or any large sporting goods store

Um... I was hoping for a bit more than that... I have a "universal" bike rack (from Dicks) that fit my SVT focus and the Fiance's Honda Civic - No dice on the back of the Celica.

Get a hidden hitch that fits underneath your rear bumper and bolts to the frame (very easy to install) and then get a bike rack that will fit in that. I did that and it's super easy to put it on/take it off and doesn't touch the body of the car (no scratches).
Look for a place that sells hitches.

I have found dealers's option parts catalog for Toyota cars sold in Europe. There were many interesting things available! Pity more than half of them are discontinued .

I also have the same question
some time ago i gave up cause my only option was to through my bike in the hatch and too messy
so them hitches bolt right up? if they do thats great!
I just checked and there is two bolt holes under the bumper so do them hitches come in differnt sizes or what?

i got the one from walmart and i loved it,till me dad backed into a tree but it worked very well adn was sturdy,hell it did 90 and didnt rattle,thats saying something lol

There was also a genuine cycle rack that fitted on the back of the vehicle. Over the tailgate (rather than rear bumper and numberplate) IIRC.

A bike rack on a Celica is a problem...whenever I head into the hills i tend to use something called a Nissan

I am quite keen on the mountain biking too, at the moment I either use a stoopid thing that relies on straps and hooks, or just stick the bikes in the hatch (3 is my record)
