WTB: '94 Celica ST Intake, Cant seem to find any that are "Legal" Options

Hey people, I need a new Intake for my Celica, Im looking for an AEM, Injen, ect. I cant seem to find any for my ST, maybe Im not looking hard enough? How much are they? Do these Intake's have a hole for the AIC controller? And would I be able to use a GT Intake on my ST? I dont see what the difference would be. Any replie's are greatly appreciated. Thank's -Phil

Technically any modification is considered illegal. Thats why companies say "For off-road use only" which is to cover their their own as$.

There really isn't any company that makes an intake for the ST. Most ST guys here just spring for the eBay intake and throw a nice filter on it.

The eBay one I had earlier I had to drill a hole for the sensor, but thats not hard at all. Then I slapped an AEM intake bypass on it and threw the CARB sticker up on the hood. Makes it all look legit

or get yourself some nice downpipes and make your own custom fit one... like i fit mine, its a BBK SRI from a 06 Mustang just needed fitting is all

arent there intakes for ST? cuz i tried looking through the parts catalog on this site, and tehre were 2 i think, the weapon are and some doctor one im pretty sure those will do some justice, intakes an intake it should do

there are none that will fit on 94-95 st's and i know this for sure since ive searched, has to be custom fit.... btw i think i know where you live... kinda by dempster rd right?

FYI, K&N intake says it CARB legal on the box but it apparently isn't.

And just looking at how an Injen GT intake looks like, it's a bit different than what an ST should look like...but after removing that stock box, there's alot of space so who knows...maybe you can make it fit.

Intakes are intakes. Brand names aren't going to do anything other than jack the price up. Buy an ebay one. They have them for the ST. I would know because I had one on my 95. It fit without modification.

THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL... the piping is the same but the filter is definitely not, do not use an ebay filter... spring the $50-$70 for a K&N filter, it will be worth keeping that crap out of your engine and manifold... just look through the posts and you'll find members that had problems with ebay filters... ALSO... brand name filters (AEM, K&N, etc) are more expensive (~$200) more for the CARB EXEMPT!! its not CARB LEGAL, its CARB exempt... you pay the money for the little sticker to slap on your hood and then emissions (Pa for instance) will not run the full emissions test but still pass you... every state is different though so look into it...

Hi there. I used a 1997 - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon Intake. Fits perfectly (just the second part) and there is a hole pre drilled for the AIT sensor.

Have a look at mine.





As you can see it is in two parts...I have since removed the part that you see attached to the throttle body, and attached the lower part instead. I removed the OEM air box and resonator...so the filter now sits at the opening of the OEM ram pipe by the wing (behind the battery). I then fitted a flexible pipe from the bumper to the cone for extra air. I will take a new pic and post it.
