hello everyone,im trying to find a way to play my ipod in my factory car stereo, they dont make any one custom for our car and my ipods headphone jack doesnt work.I know FM transmitters destroy quality so this is wat ive come up with.Anyone use this or know anything about it?

i think you would be better off getting an ipod ready head unit. looks cleaner and works and sounds better. easier to install. and will allow you to install a subwoofer eventually.
the ipod ready units aren't that much more either and are totally worth it.

i agree with goferris, i sell these all the time and its a pita to install and looks tacky imo

you can get a ipod ready headunit for cheap (around 160 for the headunit and the cable)
look into the pioneer DEH-P29000MP http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/p...5159650,00.html

best buy sells it for 119.99 and the ipod interface for that headunit for 50.99

best bang for your buck right there

Just got the drive and play from bestbuy for my birthday. It honestly works great and is much safer to use when your driving...maybe I can post a pic of where I mounted it later but there are many possibilitys

and yet I completely agree with spolski07. Do an iPod ready unit. Alpine iPod ready units work very well and have a very easy to use interface [opinion].

what's in the cover right below your head unit? looks like a scanner, or something of the sort.

My friend has a Harmon Kardon Drive + Play, he loves it. I've ridden in the car with him before and I think it's really cool. I'd go either way though. I don't use an iPod, i have a Samsung BlackJack that holds all my music, so it's up to you. I like either.

Its a thing that makes my neons go to the music. I mounted it there and it didnt look right just sitting in there so I cut out a plastic peice to go around it and painted it.
Also with the Drive and play it mounted very easily and the cords where very easy to run the way that I mounted it. Its just glued on. The only thing is that you sould make sure you have aux hookups in the back of your headunit because from what I heard the fm transmitter stuff with the drive and play doesnt work that well for alot of people. I love it because of the controls you have to change the song since you dont have to look at it. I had it mounted on my upper dash but the wires were to hard to run but that was great to be able to change songs and not take your eyes off the road.
