I was driving on I-95 yesterday and my car just lost all power. It died on me and left me on the side of the road. I had the car towed to a friend of mine who works on cars. Today we began to replace fuses and try to start the car. The car will not start. It will not crank at all. The only thing I hear when I turn the key is a clicking noise. Also when I turn the key it burns a fuse. I believe it is the ignition fuse. AM2 I believe. I replaced the fuse and attempted to start the car again. I still do not get any crank and it burns the fuse once again. The car also did not throw a code when it lost power. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for such a long post.

Same thing happened to me in a different car I had; it was the alternator. I'd look at that first.

did you still have lights and everything when your alternator was bad. Because my car still has lights and everything else it just won't crank?

if you keep blowing the fuse you might have a shorted out wire somewhere

Sounds to me like you got a short circuit. The AM2 circuit flows through your ignition switch (key on) and splits off in 4 directions.
-7.5A IGN fuse (turns on EFI relay) -7.5A ST (starter relay) <--- reason it won't crank, no AM2, no power here -all injectors in parallel -igniter I know the two 7.5A fuses don't burn up so go down the line and check all the wiring for your injectors and your igniter. The AM2 circuit is black/orange (black with orange stripe) -------------------- ----------------------6GC's FIRST V6----------------------

Ok so I have some information now. as soon as I turn the ignition on the 30 AM2 fuse burns. Not the 7.5. anyone know what this is. I also have juice in the starter. I put the tester on the starter and I have juice there. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have to get this vehicle running again. Thanks again.
