??? they are just wheel spacers... im sure many people have these on celicas considering the stock wheels are so narrow.

It actually allows you to use 5x114 wheel lug patterns. I say no use what you got. Just get rims with the right offset, and you'll be good to go.

I thought they were those things that make your wheels stick way the hell out from the sides of your car.

Yeah thats what it looks like though. I wouldn't do it man. Sell the rims you got and get some that actually fit your car with the right offset.

Why would it stick out? We don't have the specs to his Wheels....

1) Tacky, having these just looks like you cheaped out looking for the right wheels.
2) Unsafe, I have heard numerous stories about wheels coming off. Spacers scare me, the most I would use is a 5mm, seing that spacers scare me.. adapters frighten me!
3) In regards to safety. You will be adding stress to your factory studs, with this installed the studs will be stressed out due to the extended [adapter] lenght of the wheel from the base..
4) The possibility that with the adapter will increase the lenght from the hub causing a would be perfect wheel to stick out past your fender

I have to disagree about these points. If you use a correct kit/brand (like H&R) you will recieve longer studs with the kit. I have 15mm and 20mm spacers and I drive my car 'hard'. No problems whatsoever the past 18 months.

Dont use this spacers, I got 2 pair on b4, the wheels was poking out quite noticable. Then a cop gave me a yellow sticker (car defects) which required me to take my car over the pit...and so I did, only they found more problem with the engine. It was leaking oil. I got fed up and started my 3swap instead of fixing the engine...

disregard those tacky comments; if you never take off your rims, other people will never know you have spacers.

A couple reason why not to get them are more unnessary parts which also mean more things to go wrong. If they are not made perfectly or installed correctly you will get vibration of the wheel and all sorts of nasty stuff. Just imagine if you installed your rims a hair off center, it would be fine and you would not notice. But when spacers come into the situation: when you install the spacers an hair off center then the rims are also installed a hair off center. This will cause twice the amount of error allowed in the wheel, causing unnessary vibration and ulimitly leading to spacer failure.

A couple things you MUST do are 1) apply loctite to all the perminate lugs. 2) tighten down properly with a torque wrench 3) check on the spacers every 10, 50, 100 miles to make sure nothing has worked its way lose.

Recomended things to do are to get new harden steel studs and tighten them down properly with loctite. Alot of people over tighten them and strip them out and then blaming the spacers.

i guess you guys are right. More movable parts, more problems. I will wait and keep oem for now. I was liking to put some camry wheels, oem. I dont have much taste for aftermarket. I will keep searching for other rims...

im running them on my car and am having no issues with them. They push the wheels and sit right flush with the fenders. I bought rims on ebay, they were advertised as 5x100 even thhe wheel was stamped 5x100 but with my luck were 5x114.3. i didnt wanna get rid of them. So i got adaptors made. they work perfectly. I saw a guy with a luxus IS at meet earlier this year and he said hes had them for 2 years now with no issues. I also saw a magazine article with the HKS time attack evo that is running the same style spacer as well. here in this picture its annodized blue. (original website http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5587743 ) and also before people start mistaking the adaptor as part of the rotor, its not. IF it were part of the rotor, then there would only be 5 holes for the wheel studs to poke though. But notice how there are 10 total, 5 flushed into the holes (for the adaptor) and 5 studs for the wheel to bolt on to. If this car could put down all that horse power and not hurt anything, you should be able to do so as well.

There are plenty of factory wheels that are 5x100

Matrix, tC, Celica GTS and GT, and Corolla 03+

I personally love the look of the GTS wheels on a 6GC, the tC wheels are so-so.. Looked too big imo especially without a drop.
