it looks a lot better in person, but there you go. The bulbs came from Culpable, the lenses came from 1sttoyotaparts.com and were only $3.41 each. The part number for the lenses is 81231-0C010. All you need is a small flathead screwdriver. it took me less than 5 minutes to do both sides. it really is the easiest mod i've done to the celica ever!

tundra, actually. but yeah, same here, I've got blue gauges with a red UEGO as well. I've been thinking about swapping out the UEGO for a innovate LC-1 with the digital display gauge which costs about the same as an AEM, but it is available with a blue display smile.gif I've gotta do the gauges, climate control, ring around the ignition switch, and I have to re-do the clock in a way that actually looks good. I tried a divider tab, and it fit great but wasn't blue enough, so I'm about ready to get some cellophane or that stage lighting stuff.

Hmmm, so I was looking at Havok's courtesy lights to see how they're positioned and what kind of bulb and whatnot. Well I took my lens off last night and much to my chagrin there is no bulb behind the lens. No bulb, no housing for the bulb, no wires for the housing, just a hole.
Sometimes I hate having a base ST.

Holy crap! I thought mine were both just out! Does that mean I probably have just a red plastic thing to cover a hole too?! OMFG!

I'm gonna have to look into this matter immediately. This is absolutely unbelievable. I... feel... so... cheapened. Shorted. Dissatisfied.

Oh, I'm still gonna have blue lenses. I've got a can of blue plastic spray paint waiting for me to do my dash panels and I'm getting a blue lens. It may not light up, but mark my words it won't be red for long.

These last few messages has to be the funniest thread I've read in a while!

Makes me glad I have an SX (the Oz equivalent of a GT). I may change them also if I feel so inspired over the holidays. tongue.gif

And if you ST owners were really keen you could always install some lights yourself. But trust me, courtesy lights are overrated wink.gif

Actually, I've been considering modding my roof mounted courtesy light so it does that cool fade off a couple of seconds after you close the door...

You'd need to use LEDs to control the output but I bet they have something that could do that for you so you don't have to get crafty with the soldering iron.

ya get it? crafty, like arts and crafts, haha

Oh that crafty. I thought you meant the other one. You know, the awkward one....

tongue.gif

But I'm quite happy to get tricky with a soldering iron. I think you can do something with a large-ish capacitor. I'll do some thinking.....

Not to bring this back from the coma-tose but I finally got a minute where it wasn't raining and I, too, have nothing but vapid holes behind my discourteous red plastic door things. It's like in cartoons or movies when they open the curtains only to find a brick wall in place of a window. I have little hands - I even mashed my hand in to see if maybe there was some secret stash of courtesy light wiring.

There was nothing.

I will be leaving mine red. I will henseforth be ignoring them. My base-ass ST hath no courtesy features; they are dead to me.

Sometimes when working on my car I get the overwhelming feeling of despair, especially because of my STishness. But then I remind myself that I'd rather feel despair than rage. At least with despair I don't break anything on the car.

I get that feeling of despair too... but mine typically manifests itself through complete and utter complacency and apathy, which usually results in my driving around with a screwdriver and a can of something random (currently WD-40 and lock graphite) rolling around on the floor in the back seat.

Someday I'm gonna have a car again that has power something-else-other-than-power-steering.
