Well I recently visited the Nissan website and found out the NEW GTR is coming next year...ready...can you guess where??? thats right to the US of A!!!!!!!!! SO now...would you "3s iffy" your celica or get the GTR for $69,000?? That is the question for the ages.

there are 2+ other threads started about the gtr coming out over in the states next year. but i'd stick with the celi over a skyline... once you've been to or lived in japan, they are as played out as mustangs.
EDIT: Let's look at this kids... we'll say 3k for a 3sgte swap. another $1500 for a body kit, 'nother grand for paint. throw in all other toys, and that's less than $10k for a really sweet ride that you yourself put all the blood, sweat and tears into, or pay $70k for a car that you're gonna turn around and put at least another 5 grand into it because you want to make it faster than everyone elses. so that supercar just turned into 75-80k easily. or spend 20k max on a 6gc. Personally, i would rather have something that I DID to show for the money i spent, not just "hey guys, i have great credit" or "I'm gonna be in debt for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time". my two yen. I'm not comparing cars straight out (as in specs) I'm comparing 2 sweet rides one of which we have devoted this forum to, obviously stating that we have chosen this car (Celica) over the rest of them regardless of anything else. I can afford to buy a corvette or a mustang gt or a 350z a STI or an evo (on credit anyway) but for whatever reasons, I chose to get a 1999 Celica GT and do an engine swap. Yes it will be slower than some of the cars I mentioned before but thats what I want because I love it. The only problem is the GTR is making me think twice, not just because its f-ing fast and would take out a GT-4, to me it just has that attraction.
By the way this thread isn't off topic IMO. its not about the GTR its about a willingness to let go of a beloved Celica

If I had to choose between a 2.2 Liter stroker 500BHP ST205 and a Nissan GTR I would go for the Nissan, period! I love the legacy of the Celica (GT-Four) but the GTR is HOT!!! And a laptime on the Ring of 7:38

I'd rather have the GTR than any Celica, ever. 80 grand GTR vs one GT4 with 80 grand in it. GTR for me. -------------------- Sometimes we live to beat the odds.

well to much money, IMO. So i buy the car, and i happen to be "competitive" and wreck it, i would rather beef up the celi, wait ten years then buy a used GTR for 4000 bucks and then mod it..
If I buy a new car, it will be to keep it stock until the warranty goes out. Can you imagine having car payments for a car you dont have anymore. I cant.. But he who has the money can do al the playing. If you can afford i guess its ok. in another noe, WTF is toyota waiting for. More competition. Next will be honda, next will be mazda, next mitsubishi, with great super cars. Toyota, ..................... The prius!? I guess they did not spy this one...
