Ive got a new thermostat on order but it suddenly occurred to me that I didn't even know where the thermostat is housed. Can anyone point my in the right direction for a 94 celica GT?

The only diagram I have is of a 3SGTE and from what I can work out it is in the top part of the radiator pipe (The one that goes into the block by the alternator) that comes out from the bottom of the radiator.

Cheers

Chris

I recently replaced the thermostat on my '94 GT. The housing is located where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine. As I recall there are two bolts to remove it.

Cool, near to where I thought! Is it in the radiator pipe? or external?

And do you have to drain the radiator to install?

Cheers

You don't have to drain the radiator all the way, but you might want to drain it some because you'll lose coolant otherwise when you remove the hose to the housing. Either way you're gonna lose some, but less if you drain the radiator to below the hose location.

Cool, so its in the the section that the hose attaches too.

Coolio, many thanks for that, will easily be able to install without guessing which part to attack with a spanner.
