Go read the stickies and you'll find out -__-" but depends on your style, you want looks and performance, or you want racing feel but no short shift look?
TRD quickshift is stock stick height but shortens the throw by 35-40% for the racers who need to get to the shifter and shift immediately and get their hand back to the wheel. the TWM short-shifter reduces 35% throws and provides a 1-2" drop on the stick however is not as smooth as the TRD shifter, and is ony the shifter whereas the trd one is the entire assembly. However I would advise to just spray some white lithium grease and it'll fix your problem of shifting smoothly however it is a bit rough and difficult to shift into first and reverse from neutral. Price-wise, the TRD one is more expensive than the TWM one. |

I say save up and get the trd quickshifter. Think about it. TRD is performance stuff. If you want performance you gotta spend the extra cash.

do you have a pic of the 7th gen short shifter you have on? I want to get it too but I'd just like to see how short the shaft actually is? And how it looks on our interiors being that short. thanks

I got mine off ebay, came with its own ghetto chrome knob, but using the stock knob it probably shortened by about an inch and a half. I had to shim up the entire shifter mechanism with a few washers so the bottem of shift rod would clear the floor, not a big deal. -------------------- OBD-II makes me a sad panda

TWM > TRD in performance
TWM = 60% reduction, TRD = 40% |

Yes, but don't forget the TRD one is much more smoother than the TWM.
And to goferris, i freakin love your shiftboot bro, that's what i've been looking for, well if it came in black stitching that works too, but i want that chrome piece at the top. |

Does the 7th Gen TRD shifter fit??
I've been thinking about that, and wasn't sure. Cause I know it has a shorter shaft and about the same in shorter throws compared to the 6th gen. |

Does the shifter actually make the shifts more "smooth"? I just thought they helped with shift throws n stuff like that and that if you're having a rough time going into gears you need to make sure you got no air in your hydrolics/switch to synthetic gear oil/somethin needs some lube.

Nope, shifting throughout gears are fine. For anyone who has an old S54 tranny, i would advise you to go to a transmission shop and check it out if its getting choppy especially at 2nd and 3rd gear, mine has and i'm under the assumption that my synchros are wearing down in my 2nd and 3rd gear knowing thefact that, those are the 2 most used gears. But i'll have to check it out. But there are some others who find it a bit difficult shifting into first and reverse with the twm shifter.
