I've been shopping used parts to help out the guy fixing my '97 GT after a fender bender (driver's front corner).

I'm considering a JDM headlamp and highbeam via eBay from a seller in Japan. Are these the same parts as used in the US? I'm not adding or customizing, just trying to pay far less than dealer prices. I know some countries have/had different lighting laws. And there aren't any of these in wrecking yards (oh yeah, now they are auto dismanters/recyclers!).

Recommnedations?

TIA

in headlamps the jdm is RHD meaning it might not be pointing in the direction you country laws require...

there are some variations in fenders, and little stuff too as well. but there are some stickies here to fix the headlight..

Thanks for the idea. Found them and they're outside Sacramento, but I called them and they don't have what I need.

I had no idea parts where so hard to get for this car.

Sooo, still wondering about the JDM headlights (low & high).

from how i understand it they r considered off road use only aka show cars or trailer queens. but there are alot of people here in cali that use them but u have to do a little modifacation the the lights them selves. since we are lhd and jdm is right hand drive the right light points a little different then the left. this can be a hazard to other drivers on the raod but there is a solution to fix this. use this link here its an awsome right up and will walk you through it step by step to insure you and other drivers r safe and you have some awsome projectors for your car.

p.s. ive never heard of any one getting oulled over for having projector headlights its when u put some hid's in them ive heard of people getting pulled over at least here in the valley its the color and intenisity of the bulbs that do it. hope this helps and also try useing the search button it works really well biggrin.gif

Thanks.

I have been using search on the forum too. As I'm a member of many forums for years I do understand the pain of seeing the same question over and over and the value of finding what's been discussed.

The JDMs I'm looking at on eBay are not the projectors. I'm expecting they take the same bulb as US, but maybe I should ask. I've closely inspected the picture vs a US headlamp (mostly concerned about the low beam) picture and the lense patern look the same - anyway, best as you can tell on an enlarged eBay picture.

This is what I'm looking at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...A:IT&ih=016

i must have misunderstood lol but i dont see why they wouldnt work, but like with the prjector the light might be angled a little bit but i dont see it affecting you as much. i woudl ask about the bulb size seems like it would work and wow 100 per headlight?? wows ive seen on here people selling there full set for $350 if your spending that much u might wanna consider projectors a little more expensive but you will be different then any other celi around pm lewfx and see if hes still able to get the projectors
