 Power Window Problem, Passenger Window Stuck |

Here is the problem. The passenger's side window gets stuck from times to times, but only when it is fully closed. Sometimes it starts working again without me doing anything. I had some electricians look at it but no one knows what the problem is. All they can do is connect the motor to an external power supply, thus making the window work for a while, before it gets stuck once again(in a day-week-month).
I don't know if it has anything to do with the problem, but before it happened for the first time, i had the chip that automaticly closes the windows when i engage the alarm replaced because it stopped working. Please help me. I am in this sittuation for some time now... --------------------  |

I hoped that since the motor works when connected to a battery, it doesn't cause the problem. By the way, i asked the local dealership and they wanted ~330 euros for it...
 Any other ideas on what causes the problem?? I am going to check the switches next and see if i make any progress. -------------------- |

hmm....well, i dont know what it really could be. again if you do end up needing a new motor, i will sell you mine for much less that 330 euros. ill let it go for 100 euros plus shipping.

prolly needs to be regreased..
they have a relay that automatically stops feeding power once it reaches a stop. either fully closed or open. hence if its not sliding adn getting stuck, there lies your problem i would take the motor out and paly with the switches. if it works then take the whole window out with tracks anc check for any broken pastic bushings or signs of wear. take pictures before taking things apart so you remember... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... The window over time become more difficult to roll up and down due to no grease on its track and the weather stripping on the glass to stiffen up. This adds extra load to the relay and burns it out. It can be either the relay or the switch it self. |

I read that "Most window control systems are powered by a thermo fuse. A thermo fuse will cut power to the window circuit if too much electrical draw is being used." Either way, relay or thermo fuse, I'd like to know where I might find it: built directly onto/into the motor housing or elsewhere? |
