So on my project car, someone cut a rear abs sensor wire, because they needed the sensor I imagine. Only they didn't just take the sensor off at the plug, they cut the wire around the firewall I think. I don't have acces to a manual or anything down at school, but was wondering if anyone had a diagram or pictures of where the rear wires run to? (from the abs block back would be great) Also is this whole assembly something I can order from the dealer? (sensor all the way to the block?)
thanks -Bryan This post has been edited by CelicaB: Apr 17, 2008 - 11:13 AM |

I recently did my front ABS sensor! Don't quote me but it should eba similar set up i'd imagine!
Basically the sensor runs from just above the wheel hub, behind the caliper, around the strut and up into the wheel arch. Pull back the plastic of the wheel arch, you may need to unbolt it, and there should be a connection. The replacement sensor comes with the loom and this simply plugs into the existing link in the wheel arch (Hidden) then bolt it up and plug the sensor into its housing - done - 20mins tops!!!! The rest of the wring will run internally!!! You should be able to order the sensor and loom from your local toyota dealer! -------------------- |

I bought a stripped out shell for my project and the sensors have been cut somewhere in that internal wiring, somewhere under the firewall area. I wish it was as simple as that, all I know is the wires come out of the "ABS Block" towards the firewall into a loom and I lose it. Short of cutting the whole loom apart, I kinda wanted to know if anyone had any knowlege / pictures / diagrams of where these 4(??) wires ran to. thanks again -Bryan This post has been edited by CelicaB: Apr 18, 2008 - 3:40 PM |

Oh sorry! I get what your asking now! Sorry I don't know! Thats pretty stupid of the previous owner to cut them there when they could've jsut unclipped it!!!!
But if they have got there to cut it then you should be able to get there to find it! Just got to dig around i guess - Pull away some panels and see, its got to be in there somewhere!!!! Sorry to not be much help! -------------------- |

The wiring of the rear ABS sensors runs trough the main compartment wire through connector IH1 (somewhere behind the dashboard) to the ABS ECU. On my website you can download the ST205 body repair manual. At the end of that document are the ST205 Electrical Wiring Diagrams. On page 239 is the ABS scheme, which is the same for ST20x and AT200. Colors of the wires are explained on page 312. Download the BGB here (Right mousebutton, "Save target as...") from my site, Celica GT.nl.
Might be the best to run your own wires, and solder them to the wires right for the ABS ECU. That way, you won't have to search for the wires. Good luck. -------------------- Converted JDM '98 GT-Four to LHD, check my site: Celica GT.nl |
