So, you have an st with a 7AFE alreaedy in it and want to install a 5sfe?

If so, that is pretty much a pointless swap. If you found a mint corolla engine it wouldn't be a 5sfe anyways.... i am just confused with what you are asking. I think you need to do more research or to edit your post.

To answer the question if the 7afe transmission would work on a 5sfe the answer is.. No it wil not. They are two completely different configurations

If you search and there are too many results, refine your search. This question has been asked several times.

Even if you really found a nice perfect 5SFE engine and transmission combo, with the shifter linkage, axels, mounts, accelerator cable, etc. It would be only be an extra 30hp at the flywheel. So yeah, I wouldn't recommend it.

If on the other hand your engine is dying, look for a 4A-GE. Even if you get a bluetop, it would be a worthwhile swap (if its dying, if not than no) and it would fit your transmission perfectly. If you can find a cheap 20V 4A-GE silvertop (about $900 where I live) it would be the best and cheapest option.
