bleed the system. Could be air bubbles in there. Or you could have a bad cap and thus be getting a pressure loss.

1# so i took the rad cap off..
started up the car and the coolant didnt go down at all. Let it run for about 10 mins It actually started to oveflow the radiator and spill out. #2 the head hose was scorching hot and the hose that come off the thermostat was almost dead cold. #3 fans never came on either. wtf ?? -------------------- ![]() |

Ehhh...I think i'd rather do the relay and sensor before the water pump..Which relay is the fan...? one of the 3 by the front of the pass side hood im guessin ?

or pick those which fail least often.
how many miles do you have? Do you know when it was last changed? This post has been edited by playr158: Aug 20, 2008 - 2:05 PM |

Well..i had a few fuses blown out so im hoping it is the relay.
It has 230 k and i have no clue on which or what was changed besides the motor. And which one of the relays is the rad fans in the relay box ? This post has been edited by slow_yota: Aug 20, 2008 - 2:23 PM -------------------- ![]() |

UPDATE:
I replaced the coolant temp sensor & fan 2 and 3 relays in the relay box.... Fan 2 comes on but only if i dont push it all the way down.If i completely engage the relay into the female circuit it doesnt come on at all.. Also...it looks like the coolant in the radiator is just sitting there.. Shouldt it be circulating?..or moving somewhat through the radiator at least ? -------------------- ![]() |

Since one pipe is hot and the other is cold i would assume that for some reason the water isnt circulating, either the water pump isnt working or thermostat is bung.
But since you put in a new thermostat i would say its the water pump. -------------------- ![]() 1994年 トヨタ 神々しい My Facebook My Bebo QUOTE (loll6g @ Nov 6, 2008 - 5:53 AM) automatics are for lazy ass drivers who jst want there car so that they can look cool |

hmm sound like a lot of issue um if you think it the water pump to the left of the thermostat there a hole it called a weep hole check to see if there any sign of coolant coming out of there is a small hole that will tell you if your water pump is junk.
The fan should kick on when the engine reach 175 degree F, I know this sound like a funny question but did you use mix the coolant 50/50 that is 50% water and 50 % coolant. Fan 2 I believe is for the a/c and fan one is your rad fan. Well your not going to see the coolant move around. Also check to see if the anything is block the a/c condensor. When does it overheat in the driveway? while your driven down the road? |

Well..player158 did bring up that it was the relay so in the end i did get the brain jog i needed to fix it .. =]
Also, Both coolant hoses are warming up as they should...i had to remove the thermostat totally to get that to work right though....idk why but i installed two dif & new thermostats and both must of been defective...cuz neither one of them were allowing coolant to get through them..Oh well, its fixed and thats all that matters now =] -------------------- ![]() |
