First off thanks to all of you for this site. Ive been reading the forum religiously since I started "revamping" my fiancee's 94 st. I finally found a problem that I havent found answered already. Probably there just didnt see it. Ive got a C.E.L. thats been on since feb. Dosn't affect performance or reliability so it got overlooked untill now. I read the article about finding codes (thanks again) and determined it to be code 71. According to what I found that is "egr gas temp. less than predetermined level during egr control". What does that mean??? I had to remove and clean the EGR valve and tube in Jan. so it would pass emissions. You can reset the computer and it will go away for a day or two but then comes right back on. Thanks again yall for all the help!

try running some seafoam and some carb cleaner through. There are many passageways through the intake manifold that recirc the gasses. I'm sure those are just blocked up. Also replace/clean the foam filter on the top of the valve itself.

Thanks. Ill try that. The filter your talking about is the small wafer like thing under the plastic cap, right? Sorry for my ignorance. I build MoPar drag cars for a living so this computer controlled stuff is new to me. Seems like its got alot of potential though.
