I am not sure if this is the right place to put this or not but here goes. As most people know isabella just swept up the east coast. Well I am stationed at the Naval Academy here in Annapolis MD. I will be leaving Friday to go to Bethesda MD for the next three years. I was on duty here at the Academy the night of the hurricane and so my Celi was parked in the parking lot here. I don't know if anyone saw it on the news or not but last Friday morning my car and the accademy were under waist deep water. The interior of my car is ruined(smelles really bad and is like a little pond) and my engine is ruined. I can't get it to turn over and there is no power at all to anything in the car. Well I have to get it towed to a mechanic to get an estimate of the damages to get a government claim and was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to have it taken? Please only tell me if you would take yours there too. And it needs to be somewhere that can give me an estimate on the whole car interiror engine and all. Because I know some places specialize in only performance or body care or whatever. I am planning on replacing the engine with a brandy spanken new 3sgte if I get enough out of this because I already have the money for the interior saved up. So I am lookig for a place that can do this for me.
Any help would be appreciated since I do not know of any mechanic shop because I have only been here a few months. -CL |

Well perfect time for 3S-GTE and an all out interior change. Find the most expensive if the government's paying for it.

I will go with an expensive engine but I can't excede what my car is worth because the gov. won't give me more than it is worth. But that is still around 9000-9500. That should make for a nice engine! I still need to know of a shop. I am thinking about taking it back to the dealer to get the quote! Is this a good or bad idea?

If you're looking for a high quote to get as much money as you can, I would recommend going to the dealer for a quote. They're usually higher than anyone else for parts and service. I would always check several places to be sure, though. Just pick up the yellow pages and start calling.

Ouch! Sorry to hear what happened. I saw some pictures of how Annapolis was flooded after the storm. It looked pretty bad! Good luck with your claim.
