Hi,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up a 1994 Toyota Celica GTS. I purchased it about 1 hour ago! smile.gif and i am already enjoying it. I'll have to post some photos of it tomorrow.

Here are some photos of my other toyota project for you guys wink.gif

Quick question... i did a search but couldn't find any specifics...

Does the awd 6g celica rear differential/subframe bolt to the FWD chasis?

Thanks

Turboecho

The cage came off the factory floor like that. It was one of 30 built to compete in the echo cup. and then it was so heavly modified that it couldn't compete anymore (but who wants to race against other echos anyways???). I did have a chance to do some solo racing this summer.

It is a race car not a street car.

They are DAI wheels. "official wheel of the echo cup"

Awesome.

How much power does it put out.

That is so cool.

is it still front wheel drive or did some come in awd?

it is currently running only 8psi making 240whp...

and no its FWD frown.gif

Some echos in japan came awd but it was a crappy 4wd full time system.

I've been contemplating making a RWD celica using the rear differential and subframe from the GT4 or doing a v6 swap and keeping it FWD with luxury/stereo/sound dampening so its nice a plush with a tiny drop... choices are hard to make sometimes. AWD would be amazing too but would cost far too much

BTW do you know a Lindsay Payne? he has a few cars and one is a suzuki swift GTi AWD? he lives in christchurch as well. known him for a long time.

I've never seen a Yaris like that, weird. Sounds like a cool concept though. OP, why don't you just import a GT4?

Well i don't want AWD.... I want RWD.... Maybe a supra 2jzgte into the celica. My original plan was to make my echo RWD with a 2jz motor but the wheel base was far to small to use the 2jz+6spd tranny. So the next best thing was to use a celica chasis. If i can mount the awd diff from the GT4 to my celica (with minor modifications required) then it saves me alot of time and money. The rest of the time i can focus on mounting the 2jz in the engine bay. And the celica has a much larger hood and engine bay then my echo so i can fit a much larger motor smile.gif

Peoples comments and suggestions would be great to help steer me into the right direction. My echo will be my priority this winter in getting it to 350-400+whp. But come spring when i can drive my echo i'll pull the celica off the road and start working on it.
