its in the top section of the intake/air filter box. on the side towards the rear of the car. should be the only wire coming off your intake

if you have a 2nd gen motor, then the sensor is inside of your afm.
You will get that code if you disconnect the afm plug while having the key in the ON position. Clear the codes and see if it comes back. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

ok i cheked if the afm was the disconnected or if the wires were cut , and it seems fine . so i take the car for a spin and under WOT the car sputter reall y bad in the 5500-6900 rpm BUT if i gently acclerated to those the rpms the car runs fine . I go back and chechk for codes and 24 31 and 43 show up . It says 31 is for the Afm ,and 24 for the intake air temp, and 43 something with the starter. My cousins has an 88 alltrac with a 92 3sgte , so we change afm and still it runs the same and it gives me the same code ???????? now iam really confused what can caused the car to sputter under WOT. so any help is really appreciated

You have a problem with your afm. Did you ever mess with the screws next to the harness plug?
You can try opening the black plastic cover and taking a look inside to see if any of the solder points are broken. You can also check the wiring around the ecu. If you have something like an safc installed and not correctly soldered in, it could cause these types of problems. Remember that you have to clear the ecu codes. They dont just go away on their own, even if the problem is resolved. This post has been edited by lagos: Nov 30, 2008 - 8:47 PM -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

You can try opening the black plastic cover and taking a look inside to see if any of the solder points are broken. Your friends alltrac afm wont work on your second gen motor. They look the same but work differently. Remember that you have to clear the ecu codes. They dont just go away on their own, even if the problem is resolved. no i havent messed with the screw , the alltrac has a 2nd gen swap so am sure they are compatible. well right now i disconnected the battery for 10 min , connected back and drove around for 15 min,. the car still sputters under WOT but now it doesnt show any codes. -------------------- |

What fuel pump are you running? That's right around the RPM that car will sputter and run lean if you didn't change out to the 255lph pump. Did it ever do this before since the swap?
You are welcome to come by and try swapping various parts to diagnose the problem [Provided if you break you buy obviously but we shouldn't have any problems - some of the the MR2 guys in town and I do it all the time] This post has been edited by DEATH: Dec 1, 2008 - 11:52 AM -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
