hey guys, since jim is coming back up here in a couple weeks, to have me fab him up a new 3" b-pipe, i had an idea for it i think would be really cool for all the swappers/5sfte guys who would like a true 1 piece mandrel bent 3" b-pipe for theyre swap, or turbo project.
pricing and all that hasnt been established or anything yet, im just throwing it out there, and seeing what you guys think.
basicly what it would be, would be a 1 peice pipe that would mate to your stock or aftermarket ct-26 based downpipe, and of course go over the crossmember, and attach to your choice of exhaust.

the only parts that would be welded would be the flanges, and a flexpipe, if we decide thats what we want to do ( i do recommend putting one in, just throwing the option of not having it out there)

what i need from you guys is your opinions on how to terminate the pipe at the end.
do i just leave it long, and allow you guys to have it welded up however you choose?
do i make it bolt up to a catback exhaust like i did for dustin?
let me know what your thoughts are.

just for refrence, it would look similar to this b-pipe i made for dustin, just obviously without the cutout, and the only welds being at the flanges and flexpipe.

Lord knows I could use one. Right now my B-pipe is my biggest bottle neck even after I replaced that tragedy that was my old b-pipe. Unfortunately the only flex pipe that was available at the time was a 2.5". Also I have always intended to add a cutout to mine before the magnaflow cat but just been lazy about it - after seeing Batman's and his vids I've gotten a bit more motivated biggrin.gif Would it be possible for you to quote one that would include the cutout and mate up to my exhaust? Besides the other components of my exhaust [obviously] what other info would you need to make this a true bolt on part?
I have a guy here who's really good but if I could just buy myself a bolt on for Christmas that I could install later that day it might be a very merry [and loud] Christmas indeed biggrin.gif
This would also allow me to keep my SP2 as it would no longer be restrictive at the track, yet stay legal-ish for the emmissions etc..

that kinda eliminates the one peice idea i originally had in mind.
just the cutout with actuator was ~200$IIRC, plus the bends, welding, your prolly looking ~4-500$ with materials.
for somthing like that your prolly better off going to your local guy.

well, crap.
sorry guys, talked to the bender, they cant do bends that tight on top of each other.
they need 1.6X the diameter of the pipe between bends, (roughly 5" for 3" pipe) which is to far apart for us.
it was worth a shot. frown.gif
