So last summer I left my all my windows open and left w a buddy to go get a new phone, while we were gone it started raining and some people at his house tried to get my windows up but of course couldn't cuz I had the keys in the meantime they set off the alarm and then pulled the battery terminals to shut it up, well I think when they did that they locked up my amplifier so it would power anything up w the stereo.. I thought it was blown so i replaced it, today i was attempting to put in an old school cd player, but the wire harness I had for it had to be spliced and what not to get all the wires wired up.. Well i'm not sure if 2 wires hit together after I plugged it in or what but i heard some sort of electrical shock noise and now once again no power to the stereo.. any ideas??? I haven't checked the fuses yet, I just thought of that, and I'm work so I can't at the moment. I'll do that when I get home. but other than that any ideas? Would I have to go to a toyota dealership to have them see if they can unlock it if that were the case?

your amp probably burnt out. one way to test it is if there's power coming out from the stereo harness. if not, yeah your amp's fried.

but just as an option, instead of splicing up individual wires on your harness, just to fit your aftermarket stereo, get an amp integration harness (Metra 70-8112), it will make the install much easier.

I had something WAY similar to that.. I just shouldn't have tried using the old school player.. I should have jsut waited and bought a new one.. But i'm doo dang broke and too impatient.. I'm saving that page tho thanks.. and thats what I meant i spliced one of those harneses... I should just take pictures it would prolly explain a lot more
