A while ago I bought some door sills, but now I've got a problem.

It seems that they don't fit on a '95 model door sill.
Is it possible to make them fit without modifying the door sill, or do I have to get a '96-'99 door sill?
I've read somewhere that there are JDM door sills and USDM/EDM door sills, is this right? And will the JDM sills fit?
What I've seen from pics is that they aren't different (one model for all), so why doesn't the metal plate fit over the plastic?

Here's what I'm talking about.

Een foto van jou probleem zou helpen, en mischien moet je wel in het plastic snijden?

A picture of your problem would help, and maybe you need to cut into the plastic?

Just post in english rolleyes.gif

Door sill fitments do not change since all bodies are the same.
how is it not fitting?! will the door close with it there?
you need to be a bit more specific with how it doesn't fit

On each side of the plate there's a small lip, if I hook that lip around one side of the plastic I can't get it around the other side.

This side goes on the higher portion of the plastic sill.

This side goes on the lower portion of the plastic sill.

gotcha now. That problem can be easy to fix.

A) Instead of trying to pop it onto one side then over the second, try inserting the plastic sill into the side and slide it down to where you want it to be

B) flex out the lips on the metal piece some to see if it will clip over.

c) trim down the lower edge of the plastic sill to gain some room.

A) Tried to insert it, but it didn't work.

B) The plastic is too wide to try this method.

C) I'll try this..... maybe if I make little slots in the plastic and cut the lip so that they slide in the slots.

Thanks for the advice.

You just have the metal piece itself, if you were to get the whole chrome door sill with the plastic part that comes out of the sides you'd see theres a little lip where the metal sits in the plastic. It's kind of dark out but I'll try to get a pic of the ones on my car when I leave work and post them when I get home.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head here. I was just about to post the same thing and given your posting it too I think you're most likely right.

Some tricky seller just sell the chrome part a bit cheaper, the plastic part seems are exclusively for the chrome part but are pricey too
