Hello, everyone. One of my stock rods broke and now I have to pull apart the engine and swap rods and pistons. I don't want to replace them with stock. I need stronger rods & pistons for my 3SGTE motor. Any recommendations as to which ones I should get and from where at a reasonable price?

And is 8.5 - 9.0 compression ration good? I'm just above 400WHP...

Thanks much...

most guys run either JE or CP or weisco pistons, and eagle rods, some guys like the pauter rods, but they are alot more money.

Hey pittfirefighter....Thanks for the info. My mechanics gave me the same recommendation and the prices as follow:

Eagle Rods: $300
J&E Pistons: $540 8.5:1 compression

Can I get them any cheaper or is that the best possible price.

I am already using ARP bolts.

Thanks...

I wouldn't use JE pistons, I've heard bad thing about them in 3sgtes. I would use either CP or Arias. I got my Eagle rods from www.935motorsports.com for $300. I'm also going 8.5:1 with Arias pistons, Eagle rods and ACL race bearings with a hp goal of 450-500 awhp. GL on the project!
