I'm trying to find out if GT4 catback system fits a swapped GT. I would like to know what is involved in getting it to work.
Any reply would be appreciated.
Thanks

the st205 catback is routed differently compared to a gt catback. The reason being that the st205 has a nice driveshaft where our fwd celicas run their exhaust.

in a nutshell. wont work

I Believe gt4's have longitudinal mounting of the engine (I'm not sure though), most fwd vehicles have transverse mounting. So this changes how the exhaust and and axles and everything runs. So to sum up, no theres no way in heck you can use the exhaust manifold from a gt4 on your application.. Well, you could but you'd have to hack up the exhaust manifold so much that you'd have to practically build a custom one, and at that point why not just build a custom one.

faq no no no.

gtfours are transverse like a fwd, they run a transfer case off the gearbox to send power to the rear and drivers side (well drivers side in rhd guise)

But the floor pans are diff from a gtfour to a gt, driveshafts, diffs, boot floor etc all differ, not going to happen cheif.

Thanks guys, after looking at some pics of the bottom of GT4, I came to the same conclusion. I acquired used GT4 cat back Fujitsubo exhaust for a small price(129). The muffler fits perfectly under the original location of GT muffler and looks like OEM. I couldn't use the SS piping that came with it of course. Next, when I have time I would try the fit the resonator as well, the problem I see is that the resonator is wide and shaped like a muffler as opposed to the cylindrical one I have on. So again, the piping would have to be cut off and I'm not sure if it will be a perfect fit. Luckily, I have my own mig welder(cheapo but works fine) but cutting through SS piping is a pain!
