you mean a faulty odometer reading ? check the carfax report, it should give you an idea.

if you bought it already you will most likely need to pay out of your pocket

if you have not bought it yet but are looking to, you may wish to request the seller fund the carfax report

i see you are from across the pond so I hope carfax is accurate over there. It is a pretty good service here in the states.

if that does not seem like a viable option and you want to see if the car was physically tampered with, i would look around the dash to see and scratches or other marks that may indicate they took the trim pieces around the steering column off to get back to the gauges.

other than that... look at how the oil marks are inside the valve cover - that usually is an easy - although not accurate way of telling how used an engine is

hard to prove then mate.

Unless as said, you can find scratches or anything on the clocks or dash....

did it not come with any history or certificates....?

no what it is my clock shows 106330 kms
the 106 is straight and the 3 is slighlty high and the other 3 is slightly low and the 0 is slightly low thats why i thought it was clocked is ur numbers straight

maybe its just hit 106330km? do some kms and see if it comes right

I dont think its anything to worry about, mine had done 60,000km and it was a 1996 I got it mid 2007.

damn your freaking out for nothing believe me, mine is worst than that and i bought the car 3 years ago and everything got back to normal when i hit 200 000 kms
