Hi guys.
I want to swap my engine later on. I love the 3SGTE OR 3SGE BEAMS so much but I don't have time any money to do it. I think the 5sfe is good for me now. I found a complete 5sfe, which include engine, tranny, ecu, and harness. Right now, I have the 7afe. What modification or part do i need to buy in order to swap to the 5sfe?
also, are there any different between the USDM and the JDM 5sfe?

The reason a 7AFE to 5SFE swap is not listed in that thread is because people don't do it. You're spending almost as much as you would for a 3SGTE in labour and fabrication (both use an S block compared to the A-block your car's set up to accommodate) to get very limited power gain.

Going to a higher-end A-series engine will be more efficient than going to a 5SFE.

Or to put it another way, there's a good reason you can find the 5SFE for cheap.

you would be better off getting a 4age blacktop with a 5 spd or a 6spd. mounts up directly into your existing st celica. and yes the 6 speed will work. not sure how but you have to do research on that yourself.

sorry I was so short in my response to you. I thought that your join date said '07 not '09.

Everyone will tell you basicly the same thing. Research whats out there. There's plenty of info on these boards about what other people have done.

Also, use the search button to help you find what you're looking for. Decide for yourself what your goal is and how involved you want to get with it.
Step 1 is always to save up the money to fund whatever you're wanting to do. While you're doing that, you can nail down exactly what you want to do. and can see what custom work is involved in it. Don't be afraid to ask good questions if you can't find the answers answered elsewhere.

I personally keep flip-flopping on doing a 3sgte swap or turning my 5sfe into a 5sfte just depending on what week it is.

The more you research about your car, the more you'll probably change your mind on what you want to do.

Typically if you have A series you go for a higher A like a 4a, but if you have an S you usually go to a 3sge. However, anything is possible. Usually the mounts, axles, ECU, wiring, are the main ones to consider.

so 7a to a 4a is much easier?

could go hybid and do a 7age

ive contenplated getting a spare engine and building one, you would have the same or a lil more hp than a 5s but a lighter engine, if you stay simple u can use the old 80s or early 90s 4age head
