My celi recently started squeeking like a old mattress when in gear (more pronounced in 1st gear, probably due to cruising at lower speeds.) It goes away after the car has warmed up. It happens even if I put the car in 1st gear and do not release the clutch (effectively neutral-1st). Any ideas?

is it a squeek or more of a high pitch gear whine? start it up cold and imediately put it in gear and just cruise at 20-30k, turn the wheel sharp to the left and right 3-4 times. What Happens???

Definitely a squeek, like a rusty old fence kind of squeek. Tight turning makes no effect on the sound.

it squeaks in first while the clutch is depressed. and also when its released...

release bearing possibly? just a guess. these kinds of things are tough to diagnose w/o being there

mine does this as well, in gear and at idle. Turned out to be powersteering pump -> when you first start up the vehicle no fluid gets to it so it makes a squeel/squeek as the belt starts to get the pump working. For me it was also like an annoying buzz.
