My smelling could be wrong, but inform me if so!

I really wanted to purhase this today, but of course bi-weekly pay really sucks. Already messaged the seller in hopes of him having another around 2nd payday, but i'm willing to share the link for any of those 7a-fe owners like myself.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corolla-DX-...sQ5fAccessories

I decided to hold off on the engine swap, and slowly acquire the parts required to do it. Wait til the 7a dies, but enjoy it with a few performance parts, as well getting the entire exhaust done due to it will need to be done after the swap either way.

It's not really a great deal... not a bad one, either though. Just about average of what they go for on eBay.

When you get paid again, search eBay motors for 7afe header and/or 7afe exhaust and you'll see plenty.

if you can't swing $80 then you should not be modifying your car, check the how-to here since its not a direct bolt on. also, $80-100 shipped for that header set is about the average going price, some sets have all the gaskets and some don't. make sure of your primary O2 sensor style before you order and get the wrong header.

Well damn Mr. Money bags, with that claim of if you can't swing 80 bucks to modify you shouldn't, want to lend me that 80 bucks instead of being a dick. Asume I just paid 5 grand to bury a friend, and i'm slightly tapped for cash, so its check to check atm. Would you still make that worthless comment?

Yea i've read over the how-to, and I appreciate the advice. Learn some tact, thats my advice back.

Agreed.
I'm only a college student, but I still find ways to mod my car. Money comes and money goes, it's a smart idea to save, but it's also just as smart to buy a deal when you know you are going to buy the product regardless.

Nice response too. Usually it's just a "hey, you're a jerk!" or something along those lines.

i stand firmly by what i said, maybe when you get older you'll better understand the difference between wants and needs. wants are things you buy when you have disposable income, needs are things you buy no matter what. an exhaust is not a need, its a want. if you don't have $80 to spend on a want or buying a want will cut into buying needs then you need to re-evaluate your financial priorities.

i wasnt trying to be a dick, i was just doing a reality check. its stupid to put yourself in the poor house modifying a car, don't do it. money saved is more valuable than money spent, i'm speaking from experience.

QUOTE

I'd beg to differ... In some cases its worthwhile spending money now, rather than saving it. E.g. when buying a house (ofcourse you have to time it right etc).
Likewise some cars are actually worth spending money on, like classic cars.
For example, the Honda NSX is about 10k (GBP) now second hand, but that will go up as it will become a classic in the (near) future.
Or try buying a DB5 these days. If you did 35 years ago, you'll be glad you did.

I think I understand what Bitter is trying to say though, which is save your money for necessities first and if you have some extra to spend, you can use that for "unnecessary" modding.
It means sometimes you have to be patient.

However, I think some people should read better too, because Rave2n did say that he was gonna hold off until he had the extra cash again.

All in all I think we should all be VERY careful with what we say and also should we read properly. Communications is the number one culprit in any company, so make sure you get it right. Say what you mean, don't mean what you say tongue.gif

back on topic: Your equipment will be available in a few month;'s time, as others said, its an average price, so you will be able to get it for about that price in 6 montsh as well.

Dont need your reality check bud, nor any further life lessons you may have. I serouslly doubt I would enter the poor house over 80 dollars.

As stated in my first response, tapped. Sorry I didn't throw my friend in a cardboard box, and bury him. Luckily he had a hard working friend that is a bit "older" that was able to assist his family.

I'll take this thread as lesson learned. Don't try to share positive findings, atleast when you think they are. Always some dick with some negativity to throw in there. Happy to be part of the community.

Can we close this thread please mod, this is childish. Was simply trying to share what i thought was a good deal. I'll refrain from that from now on.

I'll simply read my how-to's. Get "older", and save some money. I can continue living now, after learning this today......

nothing nice to say - don't say it at all --- Its a family here though, we don't have to agree on everything . Nice find though on the header. I think thats a good deal.

By the way -- I make a pretty nice living, but I too save where I can.
