so i have finished (maybe) my 5sfte conversion... when i fire it up, it runs and the boost gauge shows a manifold vacuum at idle.... but then when i rev it, it hits 0psi and goes no further...
It is also making a whistling sound (which would indicate a leak?) any ideas? -------------------- ST184R - Project 5S-GTE - Audio: Eclipse CD4000, SW7200, XA1000, SC8265, EA2000 Engine: Greddy eManage, 360cc Injectors, CT26, FMIC, Walbro 255, K&N Pod, Blitz MSTT, HKS SSQV, 3SGE Head Swap, Suspension/Brakes: craftz coilovers, Gen 3 Camry Hub Swap Wheels: ROH Boost-R 17x7 - Times: N/A: 16.73, FI: Coming Soon

Check for leaks...probably your issue. Also, if you're just revving your car from idle you probably wont see any boost on the gauge.

You do realize you need to drive the car under load to make boost, right? -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

yea reving it it will not make boost...throw it in 3rd on the highway and romp on it...see what its reading...then report back...i know i have a boost leak somewhere...i just have to rip apart my pipeing again and tighten everything up, and go over my vac lines once more. mine is making a loud hissing noise under boost and it doesnt feel as powerfull as it use to be in 4th and 5th

probably should clarify... it was not making boost under load either... i did take it for a brief drive, took it to 4-4500 rpm, and still nothing.
i have gone through and checked all my piping and it all appears to be secure... could perhaps the wastegate flap be stuck open? -------------------- ST184R - Project 5S-GTE - Audio: Eclipse CD4000, SW7200, XA1000, SC8265, EA2000 Engine: Greddy eManage, 360cc Injectors, CT26, FMIC, Walbro 255, K&N Pod, Blitz MSTT, HKS SSQV, 3SGE Head Swap, Suspension/Brakes: craftz coilovers, Gen 3 Camry Hub Swap Wheels: ROH Boost-R 17x7 - Times: N/A: 16.73, FI: Coming Soon

Could definitely be your wastegate. If you aren't making any boost at all under load then you must have a pretty big leak somewhere or your turbo is lame I would suggest making a leak tester or buying one online...I myself need to invest in one. Good luck with your search.

I will fool arround with the wastegate and take it for a spin, if that does not solve the issue i will make a boost leak detector.
