So about two months ago i put in the stage 4 competition clutch into my car with a forged flywheel. I have a 94 celica swapped 3sgte with the S54 transmission. I broke in the clutch as well as possible but there seems to be some problems now. When i down shift the car to engine brake or make a turn the trans will clunk/grind a few times then drive normally. I think that it is in the transmission but im not sure. Also when i am at idle and disengage the clutch it makes a very slight whining noise (I believe that this is normal but not sure). The transmission is also my number one guess because it has roughly 180,xxx miles on it. Any input you may have is greatly appreciated.

You tried rev matching when you down shift??? What gears does it gring??? For stage 4 clutches im sure whining is normal, my cousin's gts-s/c does that and so does one of the CCO members.

I have the same clutch, with a LW flywheel as well, no whining here. What are you running for fluid? -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Its a very quiet whine that you only here when your sitting still. I have rev matched and it doesnt clunk when i do but since the transmission isn't handling the immediate power when it isn't rev matched it leads me to believe there is something wrong inside. It grinds in any gear when down shifting and sometimes when under boost will almost kick out of gear when i go to shift. It doesn't pop out on its own just feels like it kicks when i shift under load and thats only first. This post has been edited by 6G94celica: Sep 28, 2009 - 8:41 PM |
