I want to remove my antenna mainly because i dont use it, i have a 120gb hard drive in my car, so i naver had a reason to use the thing. its a power antenna, well i dont have it hooked up, and i was looking at it and can not seem to figure out how the damn thing comes out
does any one know how to get the antenna out and off my car, i want to ultimately "shave" it off, because i think its pretty ugly. thanks to anyone who can help me get the antenna off -------------------- |

simple, there is a nut which the antenna sits on with 4 notches in it, you can go buy the "special" antenna wrench or just get a flat screwdriver and CAREFULLY loosen the nut by hitting it around, one miss and you'll nicely scrape your paint.
Then, remove the interior panel, a few screws behind the rear seat i think, and then, undo the motor and out it will come. -------------------- ◊◊◊ My F/S Thread! ◊◊◊

I just need to give it a few good whacks as its been on there since 94 lol, must be a little rusted. do you by any chance know how to plug up the whole thats gonna be there now? thanks alot- -------------------- |

Filling it yourself with body filler, sanding it, painting it etc. Or paying a body shop to do it.

I know its going to sound dumb (i have absolutely no body work experience) what is body filler, like how much is it, is it difficult to do? and how much do you think a body shop would charge me to fill in something like that? (just an estimate, can be broad, lol) -------------------- |

Depends on your body shop. The shops here charge a flat $350 to repair a quarter panel, regardless of what needs to be done to it. But I would imagine that as far as body work goes, that's cheap. I would expect to pay more than that.

I dont know anything about body work either, sorry --though i have read that people welded it shut? good luck.......

You should spot weld small piece of metal before you fill it, the bondo tends to sink into big gaps over a time.

You should spot weld small piece of metal before you fill it, the bondo tends to sink into big gaps over a time. thats what i thought, although i wasnt sure, i always thought bondo was to fill when the metal is dented in and thus has something to stick to, not to fill empty holes. -------------------- ◊◊◊ My F/S Thread! ◊◊◊

I just put in the little black rubber piece the antenna use to go through. I filled the whole in the small black rubber piece where the antenna used to be with caulk,lol and repainted it black. Looks alot better than the old dirty half broken antenna sticking up. I also pained my front toyota symbol black, it actually looks pretty cool, thought it was going to look stupid, but it looks like it supposed to be there
