Yo!
Many of 6GC member put a turbo on the 7AFE motor, and there a lot of comment on this forum about it. My question is; are you satisfy? Do you have some desagrement, like burning oil or difficulty to install it? Does it need to change the ECU? My car have over than 220 000 km, so, it is dangerous to blew the motor if a run 8-12 psi? Does anybody have install the corolla Turbo kit (is talking in an another post)? I search an alternative to my 3SGTE swap, because its really hard to find the correct part for the swap in my province(first; a GT transmission, second; a GT transmission for a low price ...Presently, the transmission cost more than the motor...really!) thanx for your comment! |

i am pretty happy with my results. i probably should have just done the 3s swap and been done but this setup is one of a kind, designed, and engineered by ourselves. much respect is given due to the diffuculty in this.

I'm with zips...every 7A-FTE is unique and has had more consecutive problems than any swap. The cool thing about it is that a car with it's stock engine is more respectable than a swap...and more light, too Think about this...if you rape a Mustang Cobra, and you said you had a swap, an entire argument about how a car with a swap is fast starts...but if you have your stock engine, people are going to give you props... -------------------- |

I am new to this site. I was planning on spending 2 grand on a Corolla 7afe turbo kit. are you saying it won't fit my ST?
my other option is to get a bunch of little things that will improve HP: Headers,CAI, etc. As I don't have the mechanical/engine knowledge to build a turbo kit myself. let me know what you guys think |

learn more and put it together yourself if you really want a turbo kit. buying a diff kit for the corolla, and making it fit the celica wouldnt be anymore cost efficent. |

basic bolt ons dont do much at all for 6gc's so dont expect much from them the reason a corolla kit wont work is becuase the exhaust piping will be different and the charge pipes will probably not fit. like zip said, it would be way cheaper to go custom. do some reading, build a kit, save money -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

I beg to differ. All I've got is bolt ons and my car makes good power. I've g-teched it at 130 at the wheels. I'll be dynoing it soon. That may not sound like a lot of power but in a car that weighs 2350lbs it is. All that said, turbo will definitely be more fun. I'm headed that direction already. If you're really serious about it, read up, and go custom. |

If you have 130 to the wheels you have the highest HP NA 7afe out there. The Max HP 5sfe NA is only 144 or something, so mad props to you for that if thats really the #'s you are putting down. -Bryan- -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe

I've heard that Toyota Australia made a stock 7AFTE engine. I think it was in a Corolla. It would be nice to find a way to import one of these turbo's for a direct install. Anyone know how to research this??

actually the sportivo is merely a 7afe with a tom's turbo kit. everything is included with the kit, including ecu and top mount intercooler. I found a guy selling them a while back and it came out to 3500 or so. a bit much for the modest boost levels its setup for. |

Does the BB turbo they have available eliminate the need for oil return lines? |

no turbo has the ability to not use oil lines and no corolla 7afe turbo kit will just bolt up i think that that question is asked in every 7afe turbo post. it will need exhaust work and the charge pipes probably wont fit too well This post has been edited by 97sccelica: Nov 21, 2003 - 5:10 PM -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Gtech is verrryyy inaccurate. Even wind will throw off your numbers. So will any kind of uneven ground.
